White Fused Alumina (WFA) is a high-performance synthetic abrasive produced by melting and crystallizing premium alumina raw material (Al₂O₃≥99%) in a high-temperature electric arc furnace. With a Mohs hardness of 9.0—second only to diamond and cubic boron nitride—it exhibits exceptional hardness, superior wear resistance, and high-temperature stability (up to 1900°C), along with outstanding chemical inertness (resistant to acids and alkalis).

In industrial applications, WFA is widely used for precision grinding, polishing, and surface treatment due to its sharp grain morphology and low fracture rate. It is particularly suitable for processing high-hardness metals (e.g., stainless steel, titanium alloys) and fine grinding of brittle materials (e.g., optical glass, ceramics). Compared to conventional brown fused alumina, WFA has ultralow impurity content (Fe₂O₃<0.1%), preventing workpiece contamination, making it ideal for semiconductor wafer dicing and high-end coating material preparation.
